Crooning his way through catchy melodies and introspective lyrics, J.Russo blends a unique style of acoustic, indie, jazz, and lounge. His musical influences diversify across several genres as well: Paolo Conte, Frank Sinatra, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, Thom Yorke, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, and Wynton Marsalis.
For the past few years, J.Russo has been performing in San Francisco and around the Bay Area, playing at various clubs around the city or at private events. He is currently involved with several musical projects, including The RussoJones Bipolar Music Experience, and the Gomorran Social Aid & Pleasure Club.
Not only a singer/songwriter, J.Russo is also a talented multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer, and producer. In addition to singing, he also plays the guitar, trumpet, and bass. He recently finished recording, engineering, and co-producing the debut album for The RussoJones Bipolar Music Experience.
Prior to San Francisco, J.Russo lived in Denver, Colorado where he performed at the Boulder Outdoor Cinema, entertaining audiences with his music. Additionally he was one of the featured artists in a singer/songwriter showcase at The Walnut Room -- "On The Up", featuring some of Denver's hottest local talent. Besides performing, J.Russo also founded Studio LoDo - a small project recording studio where he helped record and produce demos on shoestring budgets for many local artists.
