Wow, just returned from an incredible tour with the Gomorran Social Aid & Pleasure Club… 10 days, 10 shows filled with sunshine, music, laughter, fun people, warm waters, wild donkeys, rum, and fish sandwiches.
I posted some pictures up on Flickr – no videos (yet), but hopefully you will get a glimmer of the awesomeness of the islands!
The Gomorran Social Aid & Pleasure Club – Virgin Island Tour 2012
The folks at LinkedIn hosted a fantastic holiday party last December. Luckily, some friends and I were invited to play music all night long – and the event was nothing short of spectacular. Held in the historic San Francisco Ferry Building, there were plenty of tasty hors d’oeuvres, libations, live music, dancing, and entertainment.
Terese Taylor, Robb Johnson, Mr. Andrew, Wolf Larsen and I shared the stage, playing everything from original music to (not so) traditional Christmas sing-along tunes.
To read more about the event, check out the write-up on LinkedIn’s blog page.
special thanks to M Portraits for capturing the moment!
Last week I was hanging out at Hotel Utah for their open mic – it’s been rated the best in the Bay Area for the past 3 years straight! It was ‘Cover Your Friend’s Song’ night, and they recorded all of the performances. Click the link below to hear the live recordings:
The first song is “Falling Apart” by Ryan Flick, who I met while living in Denver. He’s a great singer/songwriter with a straight-ahead ‘tell it like it is’ attitude. Check out more of his music on Myspace.
The second song is “Cry” by Rossana. She’s a soulful singer/songwriter from LA who just moved up here. I’m accompanying her on trumpet, letting her do all the singing and guitar playing. If you like what you hear, check out her website for more info.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to The Starry Plough on Black Friday. It was a lot of fun! We had a full 6-piece band performing:
Dan Sorensen – voc, gtr, harp, perc
Dave Dennison – mandolin
Marianne Dennison – voc, piano
Ara Ebrahimian – bass
Pierre Germain – drums
Additionally, we have the pictures and audio to prove it! Many thanks to Ara for recording the whole show, and also to Nancy for taking the photos.
You can listen to the entire set here.
